Luke has started to be able to express himself with his words more and more each day. When he feels an emotion, he has to tell you about it. Like when Grammie leaves on Tuesdays after I get home from work, he stands at the front door and says "Lukie...sad...Grammie...sad...Lukie." It's a pretty pathetic (but yet darling at the same time) to watch. Sometimes he just stands there and says "Sad. Sad. Sad" over and over. When I give him cookies and he says "Cookie! Happy! Happy!"
Sometimes his little emotions get the best of him. He had his first time out the other day. He was playing with his toys on the floor when he decided to get up, walk over to Jane, and kick her. What? There's no kicking allowed! I immediately put him in time out (aka his pack-n-play) for two minutes. He cried the whole time while shouting "Out, out, out!" After the two minutes were up, I took him over to Jane and we talked about what was appropriate to do with Jane. He saw the error of his ways and told Jane "Sorry, Janey" and gave her a big hug. I'm not sure which Jane hated more...the kick or the hug...
