Halloween Soup-tacular 2013!

We had our annual Halloween party again this year with tons of friends and family.  I believe this year was the biggest event ever with 75 people in attendance.  We had quite a bit of fun despite the cold weather and the technical difficulties in projecting the game on our garage.  I'm sure Aunt Robin already has ideas for a bigger and better event for next year!

Soccer season 2013!

The kids both played soccer again this season so we spent many Saturday mornings at the local soccer complex watching them play.  They each scored some goals this seasons which was wonderful.  Ella had a team pizza party where her coach handed out awards.  It was fantastic.

Flying Horse Farms Fundraiser

The kids participated in their first major charity fundraiser together.  We've done other things together as a family but this was the first thing they did by themselves to raise money for others.  It was for a camp for seriously ill kids called Flying Horse Farms.  They completed a one mile fun run with obstacles.  It was fantastic fun and I'm sure we'll do it again next year!

We Made Cider (Yup. Cider)

We connected up with a ton of apples courtesy of an overloaded apple tree and borrowed a cider press from a friend (what do you mean your friends don't have cider presses?).

Halloween 2013!

Luke decided to be a teenage mutant ninja turtle for Halloween this year.  Don't ask me which one.  All I know is that I bought the wrong ninja gear to go along with the costume.  I bought nunchucks when I should've bought a sword because it goes with that character.  I told Luke to suck it up buttercup or he could be a kitten like his sister.

Poor neglected blog!

It's been busy at our house lately and this poor, little blog has been left in the dust.  I'm going to try to update the next few days.  We'll see how it goes!

Here's a pic of Aron's steering wheel.  I'll give you one guess as to who put the mustache there after she went to a Mexican restaurant with some friends and bought it out of a vending machine.

Mommy's Little Crime Fighters

Both of the kids have received Jr police badges in the last month.  As long as Luke stays on the correct side of the jail cell, I'm happy.

You Can't Take Me Anywhere

Part of the time we were at the fair, we walked through the poultry barn which included chickens, ducks, and geese.  I'm not very mature so I found ways to amuse myself by taking pics of the animals and giving them nicknames.

Aron amused himself by teaching our nephew Benny how to cock fight.  Boundaries, Aron.  Boundaries.

Clearly this chicken was nicknamed The Cheetah Zebra hybrid or Chee-bra.

This guy was Grandpa because he had gray feathers.
This guy?  He's obviously Gene Simmons of Kiss.
And below is (drum roll please)
Donald Trump.

Lamby-kins

Ella's friend showed sheep at the fair and was kind enough to let her lead one.  Cute!

Fair time

We went to a local fair and rode some rides with some friends of ours: a family of 4 girls.  I think Ella's a little jealous of all the girlyness that she can't have because she's stuck with a little brother instead.  She'll just have to get over it because this factory is closed.

CLOSED!
