I have a hard time lying to the kids about Santa. I know it's part of my parental duty/right but I still don't enjoy it. It feels like one giant joke on little kids to me (I know, I'm just weird like that) so I try to be evasive while providing the least amount of details possible. The following conversation took place the other day in my house.
Luke: Can Santa make whatever he wants in his workshop?
Me: Why?
Luke: Can he make things he sees on TV?
Me: Why?
Luke: I really like the holder that puts just the right amount of toothpaste on your toothbrush.
Me: I would say your best bet would be Grammie.

Dude, someone needs to buy the kid touch and brush already!
I took care of it yesterday but don't tell Aron.
Can't wait. Lukie and I can take it apart to find out how it works.

I'm soooo glad you feel that way since you're the one paying for it. Oops! I didn't mention that the first time, did I?
I'll show Lukie how to supercharge it so it can squirt an entire tube of paste in 2.3643759 seconds. OH,OH,OH!!!!!! Aron - DUCK!
didn't they have something like that when we were little? i'm pretty sure they did, and i'm pretty sure that I wanted one, too.
and i think your santa issues come from the fact that you can't stand to wait for presents -- you always have to know what stuff is BEFORE you actually get the gift.
