Get Out of My Dreams....(ooooo....).....Get Into My Car

Why is it so hard to stay awake in the car?

Luke fell asleep on the way home tonight but kept trying to eat a breadstick...(yes I made sure he wasn't going to choke on a big wad of bread in the process)

Trike-a-thon 2010

Luke participated in his pre-school's annual trikeathon last week. He had a blast!! You might remember the kids' participation last year from this post or this one or heck, maybe even this one.

Donde Esta Aqui?

Where's Luke? Wheeeeeeeere's Luke?
Here he is!

Recital 2010 has come and gone

Ella and her buddy, Tori

The proud parents

Ballerina Girl

She's listening to her iPod just like the elite athletes do at the Olympics....

...but she still has time for a little fun

Recital 2010: Firefly edition

Sorry for the super bright video. The stage where Ella had her recital has really bad lighting and messes with the camera every year. It's too hard to point out who Ella is because her face is washed out but I tried to follow her as I shot the video. May need to turn up your sound to hear the song.

I am (still)...Sasha Fierce

Looks like my tiny post about the voting poll has gotten buried in with a bunch of pictures. I'll post the link again up here.

(I updated the video so it's viewable again)

Zoo me, baby....zoo me, baybay

Only Wanna Be With You...

Who doesn't enjoy hanging out with a fluffy, little orange kitty?

I Am...Sasha Fierce

Seen this video yet? It's been pretty controversial last week and this week. To put it in perspective a bit, these girls are 1 year older than Ella.
What do you think of it? Let's vote!

Trunkards

For some reason, the kids think the back of my car is their own personal fun house. They read magazines back there, have snacks, drink juice, and play games. Weirdos!

There was no photo-shopping of this photograph

I was taking some pictures of Ella's t-ball practice the other day and thought I would get a good one of their coach talking to them in the huddle. Check out the freaky baby head on the left.

(Ella's in the blue t-shirt to the left of the coach)

In honor of myself for Mother's Day...

I will force upon you a list of things that I believe make me unique:
(In no particular order)

.It bothers me if my nail color and toe color are not the same
.I enjoy cooking and baking because I find it relaxing
.When cooking, I rarely follow a recipe. I find it more entertaining to take the ingredients I have and make something out of it. The bad thing is that I never remember what I put in so I don't make the same thing twice very often.
.I sing and gesture a lot in the car
.I have come home hoarse because I was singing too loudly in the car (my faves would be My Own Worst Enemy by Lit, Viva la Vida by Coldplay, and Gives You Hell by All-American Rejects)
.I have the Oak Ridge Boys on my i-pod along with the aforementioned songs
.I only shave my legs like once a week because my hair grows very slow
.I like to use funny words or expressions. Ex: I use "pittin' out" to describe a sweaty underarm situation
.I am probably the least sentimental person in the world
.I was on my high school's first softball team and played catcher
.I can laugh about 99% of all situations
.I can't stand to be around negative, judgmental people
.I refuse to get caught up in any drama with other people. I don't have the time or the energy
.If I think you're being stupid, I'm likely to tell you this IF you ask my opinion
.I'm neither a Republican nor Democrat because I don't agree with the majority of what either party says so I switch around my party affiliation at will when I go to vote in a primary
.I hate dogs and have told Luke that I'm allergic to them so he won't ask for one
.My left foot is a good 1/2 inch or more longer than the right
.I'm not a worrier
.I prefer hot chocolate or tea to coffee
.I have never eaten a Whopper, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder or any of the other signature fast food items cause I hate ketchup and mystery sauces
.I hate ketchup and love mustard
.I don't like pie

View From the Top

We went hiking in an awesome location. It was, unfortunately, straight up hill. You may remember that I don't like this from this post. It was about as steep with the main difference being that the trail was not made out of sand.

The refreshing-looking refreshments at the honor bar.
Yup, we were that high.

Nice sized trail to walk on

Don't slip (or be pushed off the edge by me because you talked me into going on this hike)!

Yup, again we were this high and I believe we were on that part of the trail, too. You may need to click on the pic to enlarge the photo enough to see the people.
The Hollywood sign as seen from the trail.

Can you imagine living in a place where people want to take pictures of your house?

More houses

We chose not to go on this portion of the trail (click to enlarge and see the people walking on the side of that gigantic hill)

You had me at "Be Quiet and Stand Single File in the Line Against the Wall and Don't Make Me Kick You Out," Chelsea. You had me at "Be Quiet"

We/I had an awful experience at the taping of Chelsea Lately that we attended while in LA. I'm having a hard time putting it all into words so you'll just have to see me in person to get it. I hear I'm loud and obnoxious when telling it so you'll need to be prepared.

Self Love

There was a lot of self-picture taking. I do that a lot virtually everywhere I go but it was a new experience for the rest of them. They all made fun of how many pictures I took (imagine taunts of "tourist" and "papparazzi" ) but yet somehow all of them wanted to see my camera at the day's end. Stinkin wannabes.
We spent a while trying on sunglasses in the shops along Venice Beach.
On the beach by Santa Monica Pier (not sure what Susan's doing to my head with her hand, though)

Hanging on Santa Monica Pier

Please click on the picture to enlarge what was written on it.

A.F. phone home?

Out on a hike (L to R: Susan, me, Krystal, and Jeanne) in an area known to house rattlesnakes (we live on the edge)

Still on our hike but out of the rattlesnake zone (L to R: Krystal, me, Susan, and Jeanne)
Me on the plane after traveling all day

On the plane with Jeanne (notice that we're both still smiling--a key indicator that it was still early in the plane rides)

Foodies

Mom's Old Fashioned French Toast (or something along those lines) with a side of bacon (everything's better with bacon).
Don't remember what this was other than I think it was Jeanne's

Nutella stuffed french toast (mine!!)

Some sort of huevas rancheros style breakfast

The food was crazy good. When I travel with Aron, this is typically the part he gets most excited about--where and when we're going to eat. Apparently, when you travel with my friend, Jeanne, this is also the most exciting part (skinny girls with a big appetite are funny). I tried to take some pictures of my food for Aron but forgot to do this about 80% of the time. Here are some highlights from a restaurant named The Griddle Cafe.

I'm baaaaaaaack!

Back from my girl's trip to Los Angeles with some friends. This will take several posts so just sit back and enjoy the ride, baby!
